Mrs. Maffry was my teacher in Junior College in Altus, many years ago, then over the years I have had occasion to be around her on a charter bus trip and then at senior citizen dances. She was a wonderful caring person. She will be missed by many.

I was so fortunate to grow up in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Altus. I had an amazing group of adults to serve as mentors for many years there, including the whole Maffry family! Even in adulthood, I had the honor of working with Dick and Dotty at the college, and being one of their bridge players. In fact, Dotty taught me how and I always enjoyed being her partner. Even with a poor hand, Dotty would bid anything just to see if she could pull it off. Often she did!
I will miss Dotty's creativity, energy and love she showed to all around her.

Dodge City, KS,
Dottie enriched my life for several years. Whether it was at her house, my house in Hollis, trips to Branson, painting, talking about our children and grandchildren, or having lunch, we always had a great time. A WONDERFUL LADY!

My Aunt Dorothy lived life to the fullest. She made me a special birthday cheesecake one year that I can still savor even now. Aunt Dorothy was my mom’s only sister and my “Godmother”. How fortunate I was to have known her. Peace and blessings to all of her immediate family and friends. Sara Smith
