Sharron Davis Barton Family
Wow, 30 years…and counting! It honestly seems like yesterday
when we were all cruising Clyde’s and Sonic! I swear my parents
spent their life savings on the gas I used for that. I eventually
moved to OKC in 77 and got a job at the Federal Reserve Bank
circulating “fit” money to the banks in the state and taking “unfit”
money out of circulation. I thought that “all “ money was fit but
apparently not! I met my husband, Mike; there … 1st day on the
job, he was the one that actually “cancelled” my unfit money. He
asked me to go to the Linda Ronstand (sp) concert and she
definitely threw the heat wave on us, ha. We were married about a
year later and had our one and only child, Kyle. Kyle is now 27,
married and has a beautiful 3-year-old daughter, Ella. She’s truly
the pride and joy of our life! Kyle is a Sergeant in the Marines and
has been on 2 deployments. He’ll be getting out soon, in
December, and plans on moving his family back to OKC. We are
very pleased about that to say the least. He plans on going to
pharmacy school in January. Mike & I are very very proud of him
and his accomplishments.
Mike is from Broken Bow, OK and graduated in ’72. He has
recently retired from General Motors after 27 years while I still work,
work, work. I am currently the Senior Vice President of Underwriters
Service Agency, Inc., a wholesale insurance agency. We actually
live in Edmond and have for about 15+ years and love it here, but
hope to move to New Mexico in the next 5 years.
My parents are still very much alive and kicking. They moved to
Wichita Falls about 11 years ago and currently live in my
Grandmother’s house. I suppose Mike & I will have the opportunity
to live there in our older years. I think that would be pretty neat
actually…3 generations in the same house, wow, if walls could talk!
I sure miss the good ‘ole days, but so look forward to the days
ahead. I wish you all well and here’s to the Class of ’76!
