Where do I start? I live in Altus with my two kids: Justin, who will be 20
this month and Catie, who is 18. Their dad, Larry Conditt (Class of ’75)
and I were married in the 80’s and lived in Tillman County, where we
farmed. Larry passed away 8 years ago and I moved the kids to Altus
shortly after. I consider them my greatest accomplishment! It’s been
such a joy watching them grow up! Of course no one ever told me how
much work all of this would be! If I can just get through the college
years, maybe I can breathe!
Justin is attending college in Kansas studying to be a John Deere Ag
Technician. Remember when they were called mechanics? Now it takes
tools and a computer! I think he’s on his way to being a self-sufficient
citizen, plus he gets to play with his favorite toys everyday!
Catie just graduated from good old AHS & will attend WOSC next fall.
She’s so eager to get out into the real world---she says she won’t even
miss her high school days—homework, curfews, dating dilemmas,
dances---the list goes on and on. She has no idea how fondly she will
look back on this in 30 years!
I remarried 5 years ago, but recently divorced. I’m still trying to figure
out what’s next. It’s almost like being eighteen again??!! Scary!!
I’ve really enjoyed catching up with everyone on the ’76 website and I
can’t wait till this weekend!
