Hello SpIrIt of '76’ers

I don’t know how this can be our 30th class reunion
when most of us are only 29 years old!  Honestly, I’ve
liked getting older as far as the insights I’ve gained, but I’
m not real happy with the physical downfalls (literally). At
least we’re all in this together!

Can I sum 30 years in a couple of paragraphs? I’ll try. I
moved to Arlington, TX in 1977, went to college and
explored my freedom since nobody knew I was a
preacher’s daughter. Fortunately, I was never arrested
for anything I did. Ha! Then I moved to Los Angelos for a
brief period of time. I moved back to Dallas then to
Hawaii (Maui) to be with the guy I had fallen in love with
in California.  That didn’t work out too well, so I moved
back to Altus for about a year. Back to Dallas, then to
Baton Rouge, and now I have finally settled down in
Grand Prairie, home of Chris Biles. (Hey, Chris, I live off
of Fish Creek, too. I’m at the 5th hole of Woodcrest
Country Club golf course.)

I worked for Southwest Airlines for 10 years. I took
advantage of my travel benefits and visited fun places
like Hong Kong, Alaska, Egypt, and Europe. I now work
as the On Site Manager at the Veterans Administration.
VA has a mail order warehouse that sends prescription
drugs to our Vets.  I’m a contractor, and not a
government employee, mostly doing human resources
duties (hiring, firing, timekeeping, training, etc.). I really
enjoy it.

I met Steve and we married in 1995. He’s been a
stabilizing factor in my life, and a wonderful friend. A
sense of humor sure does help!

My biggest accomplishment has been learning to love
myself and accept others for who they are. My biggest
disappointment is that life is not fair. Still, life is good and
I’m looking forward to seeing all of you next week.
