Obituary for Arleen Ellen Schwindt

Arleen Ellen Schwindt, resident of Blair, Oklahoma, left her Earthly home to join the arms of the
Lord on January 27th, 2024.
On January 12th, 1950, Lake and Velma McDowell rejoiced at the birth of their baby girl. Arleen
was born in Redwood City, California where she was raised and educated, graduating from the
class of 1968. Soon after, she was introduced to Bill Schwindt by a neighbor of Bills in San
Jose, California. They had an instant bond and she knew that she would one day marry him.
She loved to ride on the back of his motorcycle and continued to do so into their marriage and
most of their life. They rode all over the country from coast to coast and made lots of wonderful
memories together on their Harley. After getting married, Arleen became a homemaker. In 1994
they moved to Walters, Oklahoma then settled in Blair, Oklahoma in 2018. Their forty-nine years
together blessed them with their two beautiful daughters Danielle and Heather as well as their
grandchildren. Arleen loved her grandchildren; they were her life. She loved to spend time with
them and cook for them. All the grandkids loved going to their Pappa and Grannies house,
especially during the holidays, Grannies house was always decorated beautifully. Arlene loved
gardening, she especially loved spending time outside with bill, taking care of her flowers and
decorating her flower beds.
Arleen loved the Lord and his word. She was a member of the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in
New Castle, Oklahoma and was baptized at the Open Door Church in Walters, Oklahoma. She
knew God and accepted him into her heart. Arleen was also an excellent cook. She loved
cooking for those around her. When her husband would ask what's for dinner she would always
say Arleen surprise"; Her two specialty dishes were fried chicken and lasagna. When she
wasn't cooking, Arleen could be found gardening or reading. She loved to get away in a good
book as well as work on her garden. Arleen and Bill were big San Francisco 49'9ers fans, they
enjoyed watching every game they could together and cheering them on. Arleen was a loving
wife, mother, and grannie, who was ready to lend her heart to anyone who needed it. She will
be greatly missed.
Left to honor her memory include her spouse, Bill Schwindt of Blair, OK; her sister Bonnie
Labernik of Newcastle, CA; two children Danielle Mae Willis and husband Todd Willis of Blair,
OK. Heather Stanley and husband Brandon Stanley of Blanchard, OK; three grandchildren
Gunner Garrett and wife Karlie of Hollis, OK, Harley Stanley and wife Ilse of Fort Bragg, NC and
