Obituary for Kathryn Ray Milton
Kathryn Ray Milton, 95, died peacefully Tuesday October 3, 2017 at her residence in Bradford Village Assisted Living Center in Edmond.
Kathryn was born March 30, 1922 in Altus, Oklahoma to Clyde Lee and Florence Ella Howerton Ray. Kathryn married James Roland Milton on November 9, 1947 in Altus. They divorced in 1977. She was a 1940 graduate of Altus High School. Upon graduation, Kathryn began work as an operator at Bell Telephone Company in Altus. She retired from Southwestern Bell 43 years later in 1983. Kathryn loved her years at Bell and forged many friendships with co-workers throughout Texas and Oklahoma. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with friends and doting on/bragging about her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents, and her three brothers Lynn, Bill, and Herbert 'Buster' Ray. She is survived by her son, John Milton and wife Sally, of Gahanna, OH; daughter Beverly Endicott and husband Lee of Edmond; her grandchildren, Jud Milton and Melanie Milton, both of Columbus; OH; Bethany Milton of Philadelphia, PA; and Harry Endicott, IV and Sam Endicott, both of Stillwater, OK; and her great-grandson Connor William Bone of Columbus.
The family wishes to thank the staff at both Bradford Village Assisted Living in Edmond, and Humanity Hospice for the wonderful care that Kathryn received. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be given to the charity of your choice.
Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Monday, October 9th at the Altus City Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma with Daniel Ingram officiating.
